A gathering for pregnant women

If you are pregnant, this circle is created for you. No need to have joined women’s circles before. No problem if you don't really know what to expect from this. If you want to dedicate some time to yourself, you are very welcome.

What to expect

A time and space to relax and feel taken care of. A time and space to connect with others and yourself. To inspire and be inspired. To express yourself, to feel, to listen and to be heard. To learn simple movements and breathing which can be super helpful on the big day.

​

We will explore a topic that is relevant in this phase of your life. Your journey is unique, and at the same time we experience something universal when we become a mother. In our conversations with mothers, we hear so often: ‘I wish I had known that I was not the only one experiencing this’. One of the purposes of this circle is to create more awareness around some of these common topics that are talked about too little.

​Progesterone

 

During pregnancy your progesterone levels are relatively high. Progesterone is the hormone that stimulates intuitive knowledge and creative thinking. It is also the hormone that calls us to withdraw from the external world and turn more inwards.

This is an important aspect of preparing for birth and motherhood. It is however not always easy to listen to this call in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. This women’s circle aims to make this easier by providing a dedicated time and space for this process as well as some gentle guiding.

Hello! I am a birth educator helping expecting parents to prepare for the birth of their child and the first period thereafter. I also provides post-natal support to mothers. For example with massage treatments, so called Closing ceremonies. And by teaching baby massage courses, which I considers another opportunity to look after new parents and provide them with tools for self-care.

I practice mindfulness and meditation on a daily basis and believe that this supports me in my day-to-day life as a person, mother, partner and self-employed woman.

Hi you! My name is Selena, and I’m working as a holistic practitioner with focus on women’s wellbeing, and as a birth doula that accompanies women during birth and postnatally.

My passion is to spread the word about connection with the body, related to pregnancy and birth, but also for overall wellness and health in every stage of life.

I’m using different techniques to support deep relaxation, like meditation, crystal bowl sound baths, herbs, oils and gentle touch.

We will send you a VIPPS request when you register (this does not go automatically, so can take a little time). Your registration is final when we have received your payment. We will keep the group limited to 9 participants.

Practical information

We will serve tea and light snacks. Feel free to bring something more to eat for yourself if you want. It's always handy to bring your water bottle, but we are of course happy to serve you a glass.

There are enough yoga mats and bolsters to sit on.

 

Wear comfortable clothes. You need to take your shoes off upon arrival. Warm socks recommended.​

​

Street parking available around the corner.

​

We both speak English and Norwegian, and will use these languages in such a way that we accommodate the needs of everyone joining this circle.​
